Abstract/Contents: | Management practices for football fields are described. Natural turf is generally used and the predominant spp. are Poa pratensis, Lolium perenne, Cynodon dactylon and P. annua. P. pratensis is considered as the most useful component. P. annua and L. perenne form a better turf with C. dactylon than with other grass spp., and this combination is particularly suited to Mediterranean areas where C. dactylon becomes dominant in summer. A turf of P. annua and L. perenne is suitable for cool wet conditions. |
