Abstract/Contents:"The objective of this chapter is to discuss our current state of knowledge concerning the preparation of turfs for botanical and physiological experiments in the glasshouse, growth chambers, or laboratory. Emphasis is placed on the major types of methodology used in the propagation, culture, and preparation of turfs prior to and during the course of an investigation." Chapter subheadings include Plant Materials Preparation (plant material source, containers, root zone media, planting methods, irrigation, mowing, fertilization, and pest management); Controlled Environment Methodology (environmental monitoring, and environmental simulation chambers); and botanical, Physiological, and Analytical Methodology (a source guide of representative publications summarizing a range of turfgrass research methodologies.
