| Abstract/Contents: | "In Busseto, the city where Giuseppe Verdi was born, the municipal sports centre frequented by many young athletes and teams has acquired a new synthetic grass surface embodying the latest technological developments for soccer fields, from the drainage system to the infill materials. It uses a horizontal drainage system featuring a special elastic layer that is able to optimise the playing surface, resulting in improved athlete performance. The drainage pad consists of a specially designed snap-in polyolefin grid, which was rested on an impermeable membrane after levelling the sublayer. The drainage pad is covered with a geotextile fabric which supports a 55 mm high synthetic turf made of polyethylene monofilament blades. The stabilisation infill consists of silica sand, while the performance infill uses vegetable fibres and, with its unique and innovative organoleptic properties, gives the artificial turf a highly natural feel." |
