Abstract/Contents: | Application of N late in the season improved the winter color of the turf, the sward density and root formation. For exposed inland sites the most satisfactory time of application was October-November. At this time there was little or no further growth, but the color was improved and a certain amount of leaf development resulted in consolidation of the sward. No disease infection was observed. Furthermore, with a late application, the first treatment in the following spring could generally be postponed to late April or mid-May. |
