Abstract/Contents:"Dollar spot disease (Sclerotinia homoeocarpa) is a major disease of turf in Australia. The standard recommendations for the control of this disease involve the use of mercury and cadmium compounds. Under certain conditions it is difficult to control dollar spot with these chemicals. The new systemic fungicide, benomyl [1-(butyl carbamoyl)-2-benzimidazole carbamic acid, methyl ester] gave outstanding control of dollar spot at the dosage rates and spray intervals tested. Benomyl appeared to have an eradicant action against dollar spot disease and to stimulate the growth of the grass."
