| Abstract/Contents: | "This paper presents the results of two series of experiments conducted, involving long-term storage of lawn grass clippings through ensiling. The aim is to determine whether the grass clippings (for use as an energy source in a biogas plant) can be stored over the winter months and thus are available all year round. The ensiling proved to be a suitable storage method for grass clippings. The biogas potential could be increased by 11% during the ensiling process. However, the existing silage machine must be adapted for large-scale application in order to reduce the energy losses by 20-25%." |
