| Abstract/Contents: | "1. The different grass species have individual growth patterns, and vary in the amount of growth they make at any given time of the year. Good management involves correct timing of fertilizer applications, and also of water application. 2. Graphs are presented showing the variation in dry matter production of several important turfgrass species throughout the growing season. These graphs were obtained by collecting, drying, weighing, and analyzing clippings from selected plots on a weekly basis. 3. In addition to showing the dry matter production the loss of nutrients in the clippings can also be determined throughout the season. 4. These results are useful to research workers, turfgrass management and grass breeders, because this information controls management practices." |
