Abstract/Contents:"In this paper some research results were presented and possibilities of suitable substratum or base for growing of certain grass varietes [varieties] suitable for sports courts / or play grounds / suitable under all weather conditions. The experiment was ranged by variants as follow: soil mixed with 20 %, 40 %, 60 % and 80 % of sand. The following properties were observed on this soil mixture the effect of sand content in mixed substratum on some important properties and sod number and also the mechanical root properties of Poa pratensis-Merion variety. This variety was taken as the basic components of in forming a stable turfs and establishing an artifical [artificial] turf for sports grounds primarely [primarily] for football lawn. This soil used for mixing and making of substratum for forming these lawns was taken from the surrounding ground. Plough layer contained a little loam most frequently applied in practice. The counting of Poa pratensis-Merion roots and sods was performed in May and September and the evidency [evidence] of mechanical grass properties were also observed in those mounths [months]. The presented dates of their research show the results of three-years examinations investigations."
