This paper demonstrates the turfgrass tillering characteristics based on the types of turfgrass tillering, the forming process and the morphological characteristics of tillering. It was also analyzed and discussed about the control mechanism of turfgrass tillering, based on the influences of the endogenous hormones, such as auxin, cytokinins, etc, and the type of nutrient component and content of carbohydrates and nitrogen, etc. It is expected to provide references to further researches on the control mechanism of turfgrass tilleing and turfgrass management."
