Abstract/Contents:"Summer high temperature and humidity seriously impact tall fescue turf quality in northern China. In the past ten years, more and higher turf quality and disease resistance turf type tall fescue cultivars have been released. However, a little is known about their adaptability and differences in Huabei region of China. To evaluate varietal adaptabilities and differences for customer selection,30 cultivars were tested in Beijing during this five year study. Results showed that turf quality, genetic color, leaf texture and disease resistance were improved in these newer cultivars. Cluster analysis of scoring ratings divided cultivars into three groups of high, middle and low turf quality. Typical high turf quality cultivars included Banshee, Rocket, Fat Cat, Terrier, Essential, Houndog 6 and Cannavaro."
