| Abstract/Contents: | "In autumn 1975 yellow spots could be seen in the grass of some sports fields in the ZHS in the Olympia-Gelande in Munich. Later on the grass in these areas became dry. In spring 1976 birds were observed to pick up something in these sports fields by spoiling the turf considerably. Examination of the soil revealed larvas [larvae] and pupas of bibionid flies on an average of more than 700/m2. Following pest control was best with calcium cyanamide. In summer 1976 there were again many bibionid flies. Therefore renewed measures of control are planed [planned] for this autumn and if it is necessary also for spring 1977." |
