Abstract/Contents:"[Objective] The aim was to study the effect of the nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization ratios on the turf quality of buffalograss. [Method] The different ratios of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer were applied, the chlorophyll content, turf color and turf density were measured, and the comprehensive quality of the turf were scored to study the effect of the nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization ratios on the turf quality of buffalograss. [Result] Under the nutrient conditions in the tested soil, the fertilization provided the nutrients required for the plant growth in the soil, which made the turf grass produce a series of the change that was beneficial to their growth and survival, thus improving the lawn appearance. With an increase in the amount of nitrogen fertilizer, the chlorophyll content in the leaves of buffalograss was increased, and the color and density of the turf and the comprehensive quality scores of turf were all improved, while the phosphorus fertilizer had no effects on these mentioned above. [Conclusion] Appling [applying] the nitrogen fertilizer could significantly improve the turf quality of bufallograss [buffalograss]."
