Abstract/Contents: | "A pot experiment was conducted to study some physiological responses of 10 Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) varieties to Cu pollution. Results showed that chlorophyll content and root vigor of Italian ryegrass decreased with the increase of Cu stress concentration, whereas leaf and root cell membrane permeability increased, cell membrane permeability of leaf was higher than that of root. Physiological characteristics increased with the increase of stress period. Harukaze (5th) variety had the strongest tolerance to Cu stress among 10 Italian ryegrass varieties. Waseaoba variety (2nd) and Waseyutaka variety (3rd) had weaker tolerance to Cu stress compared to others." |
