Abstract/Contents:Agrostis, Festuca and Poa turfs were treated with different concentrations of maleic hydrazide (MH), Chlorflurenol and Legurame [Carbetamide], separately or in mixtures. Legurame at 10 or 15 1./ha. strongly inhibited growth in all 3 turfs and injured the grass severely, eventually killing it on the Festuca plots. At 1 1./ha. its effect was considerable and grass discoloration was most marked in Agrostis. Chlorflurenol at 12.5 1./ha. was particularly well tolerated by Agrostis and Festuca and moderately by Poa. Its retarding action was less than that of either Legurame at 7 1./ha. or MH at 15 1./ha. Growth was inbhibited completely in Agrostis and Festuca and 80% in Poa by a mixture of 10 1. each of Legurame and MH and 12.5 1. Chlorflurenol per ha.
