Abstract/Contents:"The response of common Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) to N was evaluated in terms of disease and turf density. Rates and time of application appeared to be more important than N sources in maintaining turf quality. Disease ratings indicated that the same quantity of N divided between spring and fall applications was inferior to single applications either in the spring or fall. During severe drought, turf density decreased with increasing levels of nitrogen. Under the conditions of this experiment a reasonable level of turf density was obtained with a single annual application of N."
