Abstract/Contents:"The survival rate, plant height, biomass, electrical conductivity and proline content of 44 tall fescue varieties imported from seven countries at seeding stage were measured after soil inoculation. The resistances of 44 tall fescue varieties to Pythium blight were comprehensively analyzed by principal component analysis. Results indicated that after inoculating Pythium aphanidermatum, Jaguar 3G,Quest,Innovationist, Arid 3 and Lindbergh varieties had higher resistance and WG3B, Plato, Crossfire II, Sofia No. 5, Aristotle varieties had moderate resistance to Pythium blight. While many tested varieties were susceptible to Pythium blight, especially 92-116, Easycare, Jaguar 4G and Super Watch Dog were much higher susceptible to Pythium blight."
