Abstract/Contents:"[Objective] The research aimed to study the distribution trends of Kentucky bluegrass root biomass, root weight density (RWD), root length density (RLD) in autumn growing season. [Method] The soil sampling was used to sample on Kentucky bluegrass turf in the growing season. The time and space variation trends of root biomass, RWD and RLD, the relationship between the biomass and the soil water content were studied. [Result] In autumn growing season, the variation rules of Kentucky bluegrass root biomass, RWD and RLD were same. They reached the peak values in August and were respectively 0.18 g/cm2, 5.75 × 10-3 g/cm3, 114.64 cm/cm3.The space distribution rules of every index were same. As the soil depth increased, they showed the gradual decrease trend. The variation rule of biomass was same with that of soil water content. It illustrated that Kentucky bluegrass distributed the different photosynthetic products to the root under the different soil water content conditions. [Conclusion] The research provided the theory basis for understanding the turnover rule of root, the cycle and redistribution process of C, N in the urban ecological system, the absorption strategy of root in the different periods."
