Abstract/Contents:"Phytoremediation, a technology using plants to remove contaminants from soil, has become a hot topic in the current research. The mechanisms of heavy metal absorbing, transportation, accumulation, distribution and tolerance in turfgrasses were reviewed. The damaging mechanism of lead was discussed in terms of physiological and biochemical aspects. The relationships between the tolerance and root system and metal cheaters were analyzed. The suggestions for further research were provided as well."
