Abstract/Contents:"[Objective] The study was to promote the establishment of high quality lawn in north China. [Methods] The cool-season lawn grasses Festuca rubra were treated by foliage spray with different concns. of paclobutrazol PP333(100,200,350 mg/L) and uniconazole S3307(16,32,64 mg/L),with the treatment of spraying clear water as CK,the effects of different treatments on growth and chlorophyll content of Festuca rubra were studied. [Results] The inhibition of PP333 on height growth of Festuca rubra was increased with the increase of spraying dosage, and the inhibition rate of 3 treatments on height growth of Festuca rubra was 53%, 62% and 64% resp. after 60 d of spraying treatment. After 60 d of spraying treatment, the plant height of Festuca rubra in CK group increased 24.53 cm, and that of Festuca rubra in treatments with different concns. of S3307 increased 13.05,11.60 and 13.68 cm resp. The dwarfing effect of PP333 on Festuca rubra was more obviously when its concn was higher than 200 mg/L. Spraying 200 mg/L PP333 and 16 mg/L S3307 could significantly increase the chlorophyll content of Festuca rubra. [Conclusion] The dwarfing effect of PP333 on Festuca rubra was stronger than that of S3307."
