Abstract/Contents:"The effects of drought on germination characteristics of tall festuca "Guardian 21", perennial ryegrass "winter", creeping bentgrass "Putter" were studied under different osmotic potentials of polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG-6000), toevaluate [to evaluate] the seed drought resistance of the three cool-season turfgrasses in the germination stage. The results showed that the germination characteristics of three turfgrass all decreased signifantly [significantly] with the increase of PEG-6000 concentration. Furthernore [furthermore], drought resistance of various turfgrass cultivars differs obviously. The strongest drought tolerace [tolerance] was tall festuca, the second was perennial ryegrass, whereas the worst was creeping bentgrass."
