Abstract/Contents:"[Objective] The aim was to study the effect of boric acid on Zoysia japonica cv. Lanyin No 3 under low temperature stress so as to provide reference for improving lawn quality of Zoysia japonica cv. Lanyin No 3 under low temperature stress. [Method] Two density boric acid which were 16 μmol/L and 32 μmol/L respectively were sprayed twice on Zoysia japonica cv.Lanyin No 3 to study effect of boric acid on the chlorophyll, the soluble sugar, the dissociative proline, the malonaldehyde content and the relative membrane penetrability of Zoysia japonica cv. Lanyin No 3. [Result] The results showed that under the low temperature stress the 16 μmol/L boric acid treatment and the 32 μmol/L boric acid treatment could enhance the chlorophyll, the soluble sugar, the dissociative proline content of Zoysia japonica steud. Lanyin No 3, simultaneously the malonaldehyde content reduced, As a result, the cell membrane system had been protected. The 16 μmol/L boric acid treatment got the better effect, the chlorophyll content, the soluble sugar content and the dissociative proline content enhanced separately 37.5%, 41.2%, 45.1% compared to the comparison, but the malonaldehyde content reduced 16.4%, the relative membrane penetrability reduced 145.0% (A260) and 50.0% (A280). [Conclusion] The 16 μmol/L boric acid treatment could enhance resistance of low temperature stress of Zoysia japonica cv. Lanyin No 3."
