Abstract/Contents:"The study was conducted to research best layer which can be applied super absorbent polymer for increasing usage rate of water and fertilizer in perennial ryegrass turf medium. The treatment was applying SAP 5 cm under the soil horizon, 10 cm under the soil horizon, 15 cm under the soil horizon and blank control respectively. It adopted two different watering methods: normal irrigation and large leaching irrigation, and then we tested and analyzed turfgrass growth rate, soil water content, amount of leaching nutrient, change of soil nutrient and perennial ryegrass turfgrass apparent traits at regular intervals. The study illustrated that 20 cm deep and 7.5 cm shallow applied layer had different effects on soil water content, the capacity of retaining fertilizer, turf density, and SAP can improve the capacity of retaining fertilizer and play a role in water retention in perennial ryegrass turfgrass in different layers. Applying SAP at 5 cm under the soil horizon was considered the best layer in turf medium as this depth had the best capacity of water, N and P retention, as well as producing the maximum turf density."
