Abstract/Contents:"The official name of the Curitiba Stadium is Joaquim Americo Guimaraes, but is known as the Arena de Baixada; it is the home of Atle^D'tico Paranaense, and for the World Championships in Brazil in 2014 had been the subject of major engineering adjustments that made it a cutting-edge facility. After the four games played on natural grass for the World Cup, though, the structure rather closed and covered of the field, depriving the lawn enough light and air, resulted in the decision to replace the turf with a synthetic grass surface, certified FIFA Pro. The choice fell on an Italian product, and replacement, which began last December, has taken place in just two months, allowing teams to play already in synthetic grass February. The club has conducted extensive research, for about six months, in a market with different offers to find the best solution in the world. With a careful analysis of the pros and cons of each system, it was chosen this technology that has a hybrid filler system and offers greater resemblance to the natural grass. The new lawn can be used daily, respecting only the times for the irrigation, from 2 to 7 times per week, consuming a significantly lower volume of water compared to natural grass."
