Abstract/Contents:"A survey of lawns and lawngrasses is northwest Canada in the spring of 1968 showed extensive plant injury due to snowmolds. The occurrence of Typhula ishikariensis, the most prevalent snowmold, is reported for this area for the first time and the sclerotia are described. Other snowmolds occurring in decreasing frequency were identified as Sclerotinia borealis, Fusarium nivale and Typhula incarnata. The incidence of snowmold damage to lawns generally decreased from north to south. Twenty cultivars of fescue and nine of Kentucky bluegrass were rated for their resistance to, and ability to recover from, damage caused by T. Ishikariensis."
