| Abstract/Contents: | A trial was conducted with 15 seed mixtures to provide ground cover on different sloping sites in southern Germany. After 2 years the thickest, shortest turf had developed from mixtures containing only a few grass species such as Agrostis spp., Festuca rubra, F. ovina and Poa pratensis. The addition of clovers and other plants to the seed mixtures was not necessary, as these invaded the sward naturally. |
