| Abstract/Contents: | Preliminary results with Cynosurus cristatus var. Credo, Lolium perenne var. Perma, Phleum pratense var. King and Poa pratensis var. Merion indicated that cutting at a height of 3 cm increased the root mass more than cutting at 1 cm. Nitrogen fertilization late in the season resulted in a greater root mass, especially with C. cristatus, Phleum pratense and Poa pratensis. Rooting was very intensive during the second growing season. No constant relationship was found between a visual evaluation of the green turf and the root formation. |
