Abstract/Contents:"This experiment evaluated effects of seeding rates on establishment and forage mass of sorghum-sudangrass interseeded into existing sod consisting of tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, white clover, and dandelion at Lincoln, NE. The experiment was a completely randomized design consisting of 6 replications of 4 sorghum-sudangrass pure live seed (PLS) rates (0, 16, 27, and 40 PLS m-2) and 1 unseeded, unmowed control. The sod was mowed to a 2.5-cm stubble height before interseeding on 20 May 2016. The unseeded, unmowed control had been mowed during the spring but was left at a 10-cm stubble height at the start of the experiment. Plots were fertilized with 67 kg N ha-1 on 24 June 2016 after sorghum-sudangrass emerged."
