Abstract/Contents: | A study, by J. M. Dipaola, A. H. Bruneau and W. B. Gilbert, selected cool-season species and cultivars to evaluate establishment when seeded in the summer. Low, medium and high seeding rates were used to determine the most effective rate. The soil temperature (one inch below the surface) approached 110 deg.F during afternoon periods. Annual and perennial ryegrass performed best, followed by tall fescue. |
