| Abstract/Contents: | "One aspect of all land-grant institution missions in the United States is to disseminate useful and practical information to their clientele. This is generally done through the Cooperative Extension Service (CES). CES program development is a continuous series of complex, interrelated processes that requires working with people or "helping people help themselves." In Georgia, an interdisciplinary team of agronomists, entomologists, and plant pathologists work cooperatively and individually to meet this mission. University extension specialists serve as liasions for the transfer of information between the University and its clientele. This transfer is generally done through in-service training, publications, meetings, telephone consultation, laboratory services, on-site visits, audio visuals, mass media, guides and reports, field demonstrations/research, and computer programs." |
