Abstract/Contents:"A pot experiment was conducted to study the effects of Cadmium and Lead pollution on growth of Kentucky bluegrass seedlings in order to provide references for breeding cadmium and lead stress-resistant varieties of turf grass and improve cadmium and lead contaminated soil. The results indicated that under cadmium and lead stress, POD and SOD activities in leaves of Kentucky bluegrass seedling first increased then decreased in 3determination periods; plant height, leaf chlorophyll content and CAT activity under cadmium and lead treatment after 10 d and 20dshowed the same trend as former while declined on the 30 d. All the indexes reached maximum levels when treated with concentration of 0~50mg/kg cadmium and concentration of 0~500mg/kg lead, after then began to fall down. With prolonging of stress time, the inhibition effect of cadmium and lead on Kentucky bluegrass seedlings became more and more obvious(P0.05), cadmium was more toxic than lead."
