Abstract/Contents:"Dichondra repens is a crucial vegetation in China which mainly rely on seed imports for planting. How to reduce the cost of seed expenses in production becomes more important. In this study, sowing rates of 10g/m2, 13g/m2, 16g/m2, 19g/m2, 22g/m2 were evaluated according to parameters like Relative growth rate, Coverage, Density and NTEP in order to select the optimal rate of Dichondra repens in sub-tropical areas. The results indicated that the density and coverage of Dichondra repens turf were 165.57 plants per square and 69.78%, respectively, when seeded at the rate of 19 g/m2. Compared to other seeds rates, there are fewer weeds in turf. Moreover, better turf coverage and uniformity were observed, which lead to the best compound turf quality (P0.05). Therefore, it could conclude that the seedling rate of 19g/m2 is optimal for Dichondra repens to be used in sub-tropical areas."
