Abstract/Contents:"By using exogenous ABA, this paper determined different physiological indexes of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) Arid3 and Houndog5 with ABA treatment under different kinds of light intensity. Comparing with the control, membrane permeability of Arid3 and Houndog5 under low light increased dramatically (P0.05), while that with LL+ABA treatment changed a lot and the increase of Arid3 was greater than Houndog5. Comparing with the control, chlorophyll A of Arid3 and Houndog5 decreased by 40.94% and 38.21% under LL+ABA treatment, respectively, but chlorophyll B of Arid3 decreased by 35.60% under LL+ABA treatment. However, Chlorophyll content of Arid3 and Houndog5 decreased under LL+ABA treatment, the difference of chlorophyll content between control and ABA + LL treatment of Arid3 and Houndog5 did not met the level of significance (P0.05). Proline content and soluble protein content of two varieties of tall fescue increased significantly under LL+ABA treatment (P0.05), change degree of proline was: LL+ABALLCK, change degree of soluble protein of Arid3 was: LLLL+ABACK, while change of Houndog5 was: LL+ABALLCK. Therefore, Arid3 and Houndog5 had better shade tolerance, and shade tolerance of Houndog5 was superior to Arid3. At the same time, ABA can improve the resistance of tall fescue to low light stress."
