Abstract/Contents:"Net CO2 exchange (NCE) of 'Coastal' bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers) leaves was highest at collar emergence and decreased with age. It decreased more rapidly at high light intensities, although initial NCE was higher. Leaves died in about 18 (natural sunlight) to 35 days (22 klux artificial light) after collar emergence. The much higher photosynthetic rate of younger leaves may explain the high production of frequently cut Coastal stands."
