Abstract/Contents: | "Using quadrat sampling method, the effects of eight typical plant groups on temperature and humidity of microenvironment were investigated in parks in subtropical Shenzhen City. In the winter of 2010 and the spring of 2011, we measured temperature, relative humidity and solar radiation of different plant groups. An unshaded open space and grass-plots without trees and shrubs were selected as controls. The results showed that the daily change of temperature, humidity and solar radiation of plant groups can be described as curve of "V", and there was no seasonal variations. In comparison with the unshaded open space, 8 different plant groups had significant impact on temperature and humidity of microenvironment, which could reduce the temperature by 3.2°C and increase the humidity by 7.0%. Seasonal observations revealed the effects of plant groups on temperature and humidity in spring were more obvious than that in winter. There was no difference between cooling capacity and humidity capacity of the same plant groups in different seasons, however, the seasonal orders of cooling and humidity effects of 8 different plant groups were slightly different. The results also revealed that the contributions of plant groups in regulating microenvironment were related to solar radiation, air temperature and canopy density of plant groups. Plant groups, which had complex structure, high canopy density and large cannopy areas had obvious effects on regulating microenvironment, and easily to create comfortable living environment." |
