| Abstract/Contents: | NF 48 and benomyl, each at 0.9 g a.i./m2, were the most effective fungicides tested against Fusarium patch disease and reduced the disease incidence (in a scale where 0 = no disease) from 5 to 0.3 and 5.3 to 0.3, respectively, after 4 weeks as compared with 5.3-4.3 in the untreated control. All the fungicides used were satisfactory. All the fungicides tested against Corticium disease gave satisfactory protection in the presence of N, but in its absence anilazine, benomyl, dichlorophen, Mersil and thiram were the most effective. N addition also greatly improved turf color. Most of the fungicides in the presence of N controlled dollar spot (Sclerotinia homoeocarpa), but without N no treatment was totally satisfactory. Plots treated with benomyl or TBZ briefly appeared greener than other plots soon after treatment. Further spread of damping-off was prevented for 2 weeks by most of the fungicides tested, but none was completely effective. After 3 weeks untreated plots recovered from the disease as seedlings grew past the susceptible stage. The best overall treatment against damping-off were anilazine, Daconil and NF 48. |
