| Abstract/Contents: | "The Irrigation Association has advanced the use of a SM (scheduling multiplier) to adjust landscape watering schedules based on the DULQ (distribution uniformity - low quarter) obtained from sprinkler audits using surface catchments. However the SM algorithm appears to be overly generous as DULQ increases. Present calculation: SM = 1 / (0.4+0.6*DULQ) Proposed calculation: SM = 1/(0.352 + 0.72 * DULQ) The proposed change would have minimal effect on calculation of the SM when DULQ is 0.40, but would increasingly lower the calculated SM until SM reaches a minimum value of 1.0 when DULQ is 0.90 or greater." |
