Abstract/Contents: | Gypsy moths are becoming infamous throughout the state of Michigan. These moths defoliate certain species of woody plants and are a severe nuisance when present in large numbers. There are several methods of non-chemical control including barrier bands, cloth hiding bands, pheromone traps and a gypsy moth attachment for bug zappers. These control methods are briefly evaluated. The most widely used insecticides, in Michigan, are Bt and diflubenzeron. |
