Abstract/Contents: | "We created a water budget web interface that allows users in Albuquerque, New Mexico to calculate their landscape water budgets using current, historical, and El Ninõ Southern Oscillation phases reference evapotranspiration data. Three water budget calculation methods are available at the web interface. A Modified Water Budget approach uses the total parcel landscaped area and zip code-specific mixed landscape coefficient (Kc). A Vegetation Fragmented Water Budget approach uses the total area of trees, shrubs, or grasses within the landscape and vegetation type-dependent Kcs. A Species Fragmented Water Budget uses the landscape areas of each species and specific Kcs for each species. Residents can input a specific address and digitize the parcel image of that address. Outputs from the digitizing process can be used to calculate the landscape water budget." |
