| Abstract/Contents: | "The objective of this study was to assess the association between the ET rate and several above-ground morphological characteristics among five turf-type bermudagrasses (Cynodon spp.); 'Arizona Common', 'FB-119', 'Texturf 10', 'Tifgreen', and 'Tifway'. The ET rate was measured under field conditions utilizing 210-mm diam. and deep minilysimeters. ET rates were measured for four consecutive days after watering. Significant (P[< or =]0.01) correlation coefficients between the overall ET rate and several variables follows: clipping yield (0.64); shoot density (0.71); leaf density (0.74); leaf width (-0.62); leaf area (0.61); and water loss/unit leaf area (g H2O/m2) (-0.58)." |
