Abstract/Contents: | "Professors Jack Eggens, Tom Hsiang and Ken Carey, with the assistance of graduate student Xuecai Liu, reported in the 1992 GTI Research Report on a two-year trial with some new organic nitrogen fertilizers." Stresses the importance of using organic amendments to preserve the environment. Compared organic amendments produced from poultry feather meal, blood meal, wheat germ, sulphate of potash and bone meal with more traditional nitrogen sources such as ammonium nitrate and sulphur-coated urea. These organic amendments were 'RINGER' products which also contain selected bacteria and soil microbes. Discusses color of turf and its relationship to nitrogen applied. Includes editorial note. |
