Abstract/Contents:"Kikuyugrass' growth rate and habits account for its very invasive nature and are the reasons why it is considered a weed by turfgrass managers. MSMA and triclopyr have been shown to injure kikuyugrass. To test this alternate kikuyugrass control method, an experiment was established in the city of Ventura in 1989." None of the treatments injured the Kentucky bluegrass or perennial ryegrass that was used as the desired species. "The desired species filled in areas vacated by the kikuyugrass and were dominant in the plots that had received the sequential treatments of MSMA plus triclopyr."
