Abstract/Contents: | "The philosophical foundation of the Golf designer is essential in this modern context; we demand everything now. The commercial importance of Golf and todays Golf Courses does not allow time for them to evolve as in the past. We have to be as near to right as we can in the first attempt. And a most important and organizing principle in this undertaking is the understanding that golf is most enjoyed and the spirit of the game is most felt when it is played as match play and on a golf course that is accommodating to the instinct of gaming." |
