Abstract/Contents:"The successful turfgrass managers in the next decade will be individuals who are willing to anticipate, grasp, evaluate, and utilize new concepts. Growth in technology, more environmental regulations, increasingly complex regulatons governing worker safety, and numerous other challenges will make the golf course superintendent's job a great deal more complex. The turf manager who constantly strives to improve his/her job performance, expand his/her knowledge base, and enjoys a challenge will excel in the future." Lists seven reasons to seek certification and certification programs available nationally as well as statewide. Gives a table of eight turfgrass industry certification programs.
