Abstract/Contents:"The experiment was conducted on a two year old stand of tall fescue at Sandhills Research Station at Jackson Springs, NC. All cultural practices, including irrigation, were carried out by the farm superintendent. All treatments were initiated on 20 Jul and reapplied at the appropriate intervals. Treatments were applied with a CO2 pressurized backpack sprayer in 2.5 gal water/1000 ft2. The test was arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications; plots were 5 ft wide by 10 ft long. Air temperature at time of applications averaged 85 degrees F and soil temperature averaged 83 degrees F. Disease severity, turf quality, and turf color were evaluated every 2 wk. Disease pressure was moderate. The two treatments providing the best control and overall turf quality were Daconil 4.14FL at 6.0 oz and the combination of Banner 1.1EC at 2.0 oz and Daconil 90WG at 4.0 oz. Plots treated with EXP10064 at 2.0 oz showed stunted growth on 27 Aug."
