Abstract/Contents: | "This experiment was conducted in a one-year-old planting of 'Meyer' zoysiagrass. Sod was planted at the University of Missouri Horticulture Research Center, New Franklin, MO during June 1990. The sod was moved from a nursery showing zoysia patch symptoms during the spring of 1990. The grass was maintained at a 0.75 in height. Each treatment was replicated four times in a randomized complete block design. Plots were 5 ft X 5 ft All fungicide treatments were applied using a backpack sprayer operating at 25 psi. at 80 gallons per acre. As the Zoysiagrass began to go dormant in the fall of 1991, a large irregular patch, greater then 35 ft in diameter, became apparent. Fungicide treatments were made 21 OCT91. No treatment provided control of zoysia patch. Banner at a rate of 4 oz/1000 ft2 showed discoloration of the grass in all four replicates. Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sp. have been isolated from infected areas." |
