| Abstract/Contents: | "The experiment was conducted at the Turf Field Center, NCSU, Raleigh, NC on 1-yr-old bentgrass. The research area was managed as recommended for a bentgrass golf green and was irrigated as needed. Air temperature at time of applications averaged 83 F and soil temperature averaged 78 F. Rainfall was above normal during the test period. Each treatment was initiated on 1 Jun and was applied with a CO2 pressurized backpack sprayer in 2.5 gal water/1000 ft2 on a 14, 21, or 28-day interval. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications; plots were 5 ft by 10 ft long. Turf quality (TQ), turf color (TC) of grass without disease, and % brown patch were rated periodically. Disease pressure was moderate. The most effective treatments for brown patch control were Sentinel 40 WG at 0.166 oz, ASC66518 82.5 WG at 3.8 oz, and the combination of Banner 1.1 EC at 0.5 oz and Daconil 90WG at 4.0 oz. The combination of Lynx 25DF at 1.0 oz and Penetrator provided the best overall turf quality and the turf had a slightly darker green color." |
