Abstract/Contents: | "The need for a liming material should be determined using the following guidelines: 1. The selection of a liming material should be based on soil tests results. When pH is below 5.5, a liming material should be used. 2. The Ca/Mg ratio will indicate if a material with calcium, magnesium or both is needed. 3. A material with a higher neutralising value will have greater effect in increasing pH. 4. A finer material will work more quickly." Further discusses these four main points. |
