Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the new potential threat to the turf farming industry due to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (1980) administered by the NSW Department of Planning. "This article outlines the significance of the Act to turf farmers and the efforts being undertaken to limit its potentially harmful threat to the long term viability of this most important horticultural industry." Turf farmers have reacted strongly to the Act and have attempted to have the DOP reconsider its' classification of turf farming. The proposed changes are discussed. |
