Abstract/Contents: | Probably the most important consideration to the maintenance of St. Augustinegrass is the soil preparation before establishment. Inorganic collodial matter and organic matter should be added to decrease water need and increase fertilization efficiency. Selection of the proper materials and rates are provided. Varietal selection is also discussed and characteristics of Floratine, Bitter Blue, and Floratam cultivars are presented. Planting, watering, mowing, and pest control are maintenance factors that are discussed as well. |
