| Abstract/Contents: | "As in Scotland and the U.S.A., the golf boom in Japan led to the establishment of clubs and associations and the promotion of tournaments, which played a major role in golf's development. However, in Japan one of the biggest factors influencing the growth of golf is the fact that golf club membership rights are the object of both individual and corporate investment. Behind the history of supply and demand in the golf market after 1945 lies the history of golf as a business, which is the subject of this paper." |
